Job Overview

AbbVie, a global leader in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III to join our South San Francisco team. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform senior-level technical support independently and train junior technicians.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot department assets to ensure reliability and quality compliance.

  • Support root cause investigations and reliability-centered maintenance analysis.

  • Recommend equipment improvements and evaluate new technologies.

  • Prioritize and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure strict adherence to GMP and safety policies.

  • Accurately document activities in CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP, Footprint).

  • Provide off-hours support for emergencies, projects, or disaster response as part of 24/7/365 coverage.

  • Utilize advanced tools, including machine tools, diagnostic instruments, and predictive technologies.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a technical certificate with 5+ years, or an associate degree with 3+ years.

  • Proficiency in two or more skilled maintenance functions.

  • CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of machine tools, diagnostic tools, and predictive maintenance methods.

  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows, CMMS).

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and mentor others.

  • Commitment to GMP compliance, safe work practices, and operational excellence.

  • Flexibility to provide off-hours support as required.
