Duties and Responsibilities

Support daily laboratory operations including specimen collection, preparation, and processing

Perform basic clinical testing under the guidance of certified laboratory personnel

Handle and transport patient samples with attention to labeling, accuracy, and biosafety protocols

Assist in maintaining inventory, preparing lab equipment, and performing preventive maintenance

Utilize Microsoft Office and internal systems for data entry, record keeping, and documentation

Engage in quality assurance activities and support compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and CAP standards

Provide courteous and efficient service to patients, caregivers, and medical staff

Perform limited phlebotomy services as required, depending on experience and certification
Qualifications
Education Requirement (must meet one of the following):

High School Diploma or equivalent, and one of the following:
-
Associate’s degree in a science or health-related field

Completion of 2 years of college in a bachelor’s program focused on science or healthcare

2 years of experience as a phlebotomist with certification

2 years of work experience in a clinical laboratory environment

Required Skills:

Foundational knowledge of clinical lab sciences such as hematology, microbiology, or chemistry

Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced medical setting

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-based data entry

Understanding of laboratory quality assurance and compliance regulations

Strong customer service and communication skills in a healthcare context

Previous experience in a laboratory setting or phlebotomy is highly valued

Working Conditions
This role is fully onsite at our Corvallis facility with a standard schedule of Thursday to Sunday, 11:00 AM–9:30 PM. The position requires regular interaction with laboratory equipment, handling of biological specimens, and close collaboration with clinical and laboratory staff. You’ll be expected to follow strict safety and hygiene protocols and may occasionally be required to lift equipment or samples weighing up to 25 pounds.
