Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide full management responsibility for a team of professionals, including people leadership, budget oversight, planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Ensure corporate strategy execution on a regional level, aligning wealth management goals with broader firm objectives.
  • Set vision and productivity goals for the wealth group, driving ambitious targets for growth.
  • Take overall accountability for market profitability, sales performance, operations, and salesforce growth (including recruiting).
  • Adhere rigorously to all regulatory rules and guidelines, ensuring full compliance in a high-stakes environment.
  • Provide direct managerial oversight of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and, in some instances, Financial Advisors (FAs).
  • Effectively execute the implementation of the CPWM/Citigold team strategy, translating strategic plans into actionable outcomes.
  • Take accountability for RSMs’ territories, including their revenue plan, business drivers, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor referral volumes and actively partner with CBNA (Citibank North America) counterparts to ensure robust cross-business line referrals.
  • Be responsible for the execution of Citigold Wealth Centers, Citigold Hubs, and Citipriority sales growth, driving expansion.
  • Serve as the direct contact for CPWM Senior Management for market results and business updates, providing transparent communication.
  • Provide strong leadership, conviction, and messaging to all market direct reports, fostering a unified and motivated team.
  • Motivate, persuade, and lead a diverse group of Advisors, Relationship Managers, and non-team partners, inspiring high performance.
  • Possess the ability to attract top talent at both producer and leadership levels, building a strong team.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management across various functions, including HR, Legal, Risk, Compliance, ICG (Institutional Clients Group), Mortgage, Retail Bank, and Commercial Bank, and Capital Markets.
  • Represent Citi at industry conferences and lead insightful discussions, enhancing the firm’s reputation.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and critical / objective decision making in complex scenarios.
  • Drive execution with a high sense of urgency, focusing on details and effectively managing complex matters.
  • Own collective results in sales, hiring, risk management, and productivity, taking full accountability.
  • Own and manage a profitable P&L with a strong focus on enhancing the client experience.
  • Understand and actively drive client segmentation and future growth strategy for the wealth group.
  • Contribute significantly to the organization’s goals and embody the firm’s leadership standards and values.
  • Appropriately assess risk, safeguard the firm’s reputation, drive compliance with applicable laws, adhere to Policy, apply sound ethical judgment, escalate/manage/report control issues, effectively supervise others, and create accountability within the team.

Qualifications

  • Experience Level: SVP (Senior Vice President) / Executive-Level (10+ years of experience, with prior investment/insurance sales management required).
  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s/University degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Required Skills:
    • 10+ years of experience.
    • Robust investment and insurance sales experience; prior investment/insurance sales management required.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and influence others.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Customer service orientation.
    • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationships with ability to influence.
    • Required US FINRA Registration: SIE; Series 7; Series 63 + Series 65 (or Series 66); Series 9 + Series 10 (or Series 24, Series 4, and Series 53) – Must meet ALL requirements within 150 days of hire date.
    • Required Group 1 – Life and Variable Annuity License – Must meet ALL requirements within 150 days of hire date.
    • Comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve objectives.
    • Applies in-depth understanding of business impact of technical contributions.
    • Strong commercial awareness.
    • Negotiating internally, often at a senior level.
    • Proven ability to lead and direct a team of professionals (full management responsibility including people, budget, planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations).
    • Experience ensuring corporate strategy execution on a regional level.
