Job Overview
Gi Group, a leading global recruitment company, is seeking a Team Leader to join a production site in Hyde, Greater Manchester. This is a pivotal opportunity to lead and manage a team in the Manufacturing and Food Manufacturing industry.
You will ensure your team meets its safety, quality, and process optimization targets, while fostering a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a results-driven leader with experience in manufacturing operations and lean process tools.
Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the team to meet safety, quality, and performance metrics.

Provide daily support and coaching, promoting learning and development.

Complete safety checks and ensure all team members have the right training.

Build cross-functional relationships to maximize performance.

Manage absenteeism and arrange unplanned cover.

Engage the team in problem-solving and process improvement.

Communicate goals clearly and reward successes.

Address performance issues professionally and discreetly.

Collect and analyse operational data to guide decision-making.

Use visual management tools to track performance and corrective actions.

Oversee start-ups, changeovers, and shift handovers effectively.

Optimise labour usage, reduce waste, and improve OEE.

Complete all required safety, quality, and operational documentation.
Qualifications
Experience Level: Mid-Level to Senior-Level leadership role requiring proven manufacturing and team management experience.
Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, with strong practical experience. Relevant manufacturing or leadership certifications are beneficial.
Required Skills:

Strong written, numerical, and verbal communication.

Fluent in English (oral and written).

Skilled in recording, interpreting, and analysing process data.

Hands-on experience in manufacturing operations.
