Aqua Tech Recruitment, a specialist in engineering recruitment, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Service Engineer for the Life Science sector. This permanent role offers a vital opportunity to join a leading provider of high-performance technologies for the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Healthcare sectors. We’re looking for an experienced professional to serve as a Validation & Service Engineer, ensuring the precision and compliance of critical medical machinery.
This is a versatile position with flexible location options. One role is field-based in Scotland, while the other is based out of the Edinburgh office but requires international travel. As a Service Engineer, you will be instrumental in performing Factory & Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT), executing Installation & Operational Qualifications (IQ/OQ), and conducting both planned maintenance and reactive service calls. Duties and Responsibilities

Perform Factory & Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) on new medical machinery, ensuring it meets all design specifications.

Execute and document Installation & Operational Qualifications (IQ/OQ), verifying that equipment is installed correctly and operates as intended.

Undertake planned maintenance, reactive service calls, and breakdown diagnostics with a focus on timely and effective resolution.

Conduct installations of new medical machinery at client sites.

Deliver validation activities in accordance with HTM2010 and other relevant standards.

Liaise with clients to prepare validation protocols, and maintain accurate digital service and GMP documentation.

Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.

Contribute to process improvement and service quality initiatives.

Work confidently and independently in cleanroom and sterile service environments.

Apply a solid understanding of GxP and validation lifecycle documents (URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) to all work.

Utilize experience with Thermal mapping, Bowie-Dick testing, Leak rate testing, and Calibration procedures.

Possess familiarity with HTM01-01, EN285, ISO 15883; Knowledge of ALCOA+ and risk-based validation principles (desirable).

Demonstrate comfort with PLC/SCADA systems and reading technical drawings (desirable).
Qualifications
Experience Level:
Mid-Level, requiring at least three years of experience in a similar role within a GMP or NHS environment.
Education Requirement:
A City & Guilds HTM2010 Certificate (Washers and Sterilizers) is essential.
