As a Self-Employed Enforcement Agent (formerly known as a bailiff), you will handle a variety of field-based responsibilities — from negotiating with people in challenging situations to managing your own caseload. You will recover debts on behalf of taxpayers, businesses, and individuals through ethical and compliant court order enforcement.
To succeed, you will need resilience, self-motivation, and the integrity to work in a commission-only environment.
Duties and Responsibilities

Manage your own caseload and schedule as a representative of Marston Holdings.

Negotiate with individuals to resolve financial matters and ensure court order compliance.

Handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.

Operate independently in a field-based role covering Exeter, Devon.

Follow the company’s strict code of conduct and all regulatory requirements.

Keep clear and accurate records of all activities.

Apply effective negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve resolutions.

Complete training to become a Certificated/Licenced Enforcement Agent.
Qualifications
Experience Level: Entry-Level — No prior Enforcement Agent experience needed; full training provided.
Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, with strong emphasis on professional and life experience.
Required Skills:

Confident, self-motivated, and disciplined.

Skilled in negotiation and persuasion.

Previous experience in a self-employed, commission-only, or field-based customer-facing role (preferred).

Ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations.

Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Able to pass a CRB/DBS background check.
