Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with any object-oriented language (Java or Scala preferred) to design and develop robust solutions.
• Utilize 3+ years of experience using Spark, EMR, Glue, or other serverless compute technology in the Cloud to build and enhance data pipelines.
• Leverage 3+ years of experience architecting and enhancing data platforms and service-oriented architectures.
• Work effectively within Agile/DevSecOps development environments, contributing to continuous integration and delivery.
• Exhibit excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, fostering a positive team dynamic.
• Drive development with more recent experience in Cloud development (preferred), ideally focusing on modern, web-based architectures.
• Design and implement solutions utilizing REST APIs, Serverless, and event-driven microservices.
• Partner strategically with both business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver aligned solutions.
• Provide significant mentorship of team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Contribute to maintaining the operational stability of legacy systems while driving modernization efforts.
• Stay current with new technology trends and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• Participate actively in the discussion and documentation of best practices and standards for application development.
• Potentially leverage experience working with financial management stakeholders (desired) to bridge technical solutions with business needs.
• Utilize experience with Workday or other large ERP platforms (desired) for integration purposes.
• Apply knowledge of the Life Insurance or financial services industry (plus) to inform technical design.

Qualifications

• Experience Level: Senior-Level (6+ years overall software engineering, 3+ years with Spark/Cloud data platforms).
• Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Required Skills:
