Job Overview

Samaritan Health Services is looking for a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our oncology care team in Corvallis, Oregon. In this critical role, you will deliver high-quality radiation therapy treatments to patients battling cancer, helping improve their health outcomes and quality of life.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments according to prescribed protocols and individualized treatment plans.

  • Utilize dosimetry principles and treatment planning software to ensure accurate delivery of radiation doses.

  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and patients, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

  • Educate patients and their families about therapy procedures, side effects, and safety precautions.

  • Monitor patients’ reactions and report any adverse effects to the oncology team promptly.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of treatments, patient progress, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with oncologists, nurses, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance, safety checks, and equipment calibration.

  • Resolve patient concerns and address any conflicts with professionalism and empathy.

  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere strictly to HIPAA and radiation safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Oregon Radiologic Technology license required.

  • Registered Technologist in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)) credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is mandatory.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a radiation therapist preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, dosimetry, and treatment planning.

  • Proficient understanding of medical terminology related to oncology and therapy.

  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating within a multidisciplinary clinical setting.

  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage stressful situations with calm professionalism.

Working Conditions
