We’re seeking a highly talented and innovative Product Designer to join our fully remote team, supporting our North American operations. This full-time, Mid-Level to Senior-Level role offers a unique opportunity to shape the user experience of a complex and rapidly evolving product from the ground up, thinking from first principles to solve intricate user problems.

If you’re a curious and resourceful problem-solver with a knack for creative solutions, and passionate about building best-in-class recruiting technology, Ashby invites you to join our innovative team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply 4+ years of product design experience in desktop SaaS to create exceptional user experiences.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think from first principles instead of simply applying standard UX processes, leading to truly innovative solutions.
  • Skillfully break down complex user problems by asking questions that effectively narrow down the solution space.
  • Possess enough experience that intuition can solve many usability problems without relying solely on data & metrics or user research.
  • Be curious & resourceful enough to come up with creative solutions and de-risk them appropriately.
  • Exhibit strong skills in layout, navigation, Information Architecture (IA), User Interface (UI), and interaction design.
  • Showcase strong visual design skills and an obsession with craft & details.
  • Potentially leverage experience at an early-stage startup or as a solo designer on a team (a bonus).
  • Provide expert consulting for engineers on layout, typography, and user flows.
  • Deeply dig into problems by consulting with Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, talking directly to customers, requesting and analyzing data, and presenting confident assumptions.
  • Utilize Figma proficiently to draw ideas and create compelling visual artifacts.
  • Write detailed specification docs (specs) that clearly outline design proposals.
  • Take ownership of larger product features, including Jobs-To-Be-Done, navigation, information architecture, layout, and interaction.
  • Consolidate and refine the design system to be functional, aesthetic, and best-in-class.
  • Take in customer feedback and use heuristics to build a usability backlog and propose new projects.
