Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee all point-of-care (POC) testing operations across multiple departments and clinical units.

Ensure compliance with CLIA and CAP standards for POC testing, documentation, and quality control.

Conduct quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) reviews, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Train and support clinical staff on POC procedures, instruments, and regulatory requirements.

Monitor and troubleshoot equipment performance, resolving technical issues and escalating as needed.

Analyze laboratory data and assist in performance improvement initiatives.

Serve as a liaison between clinical departments and the central laboratory, ensuring efficient communication and workflow.

Maintain accurate records and prepare documentation for audits and inspections.

Collaborate with leadership to standardize POC testing practices and support new program development.

Stay current on advancements in medical technology and regulatory updates to ensure best practices.
Qualifications

Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent nationally recognized agency.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory or with point-of-care testing.

Strong understanding of CLIA and CAP regulations governing laboratory testing and compliance.

Demonstrated skills in laboratory QA/QC processes, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Excellent communication and training skills; ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

Associate degree or higher in medical laboratory technology or a related scientific field required.
