Duties and Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and registration procedures.

Collect and document patient vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information accurately.

Assist clinicians with patient examinations and procedures specific to mental health care.

Manage clerical and administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and data entry using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and coding software.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support comprehensive care.

Prepare treatment rooms and ensure medical supplies are stocked and sanitized.

Educate patients about medications, therapies, and follow-up care under clinician supervision.

Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments to facilitate ongoing mental health support.

Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the smooth operation of the mental health clinic.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Registered or Certified Medical Assistant credential is mandatory.

Proven experience or training in medical assisting within a mental health or clinical setting.

Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency in medical terminology and health information technology, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical coding software.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the dynamic needs of mental health care.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our mental health clinic in Corvallis, Oregon.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, typically 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexibility as needed.

The role requires standing, walking, and occasional light physical tasks such as moving medical supplies.
