As an IT Procurement Specialist, you will be instrumental in facilitating the entire procurement lifecycle, from developing RFXs and negotiating contracts to ensuring compliance and resolving procurement issues. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate comprehensive sourcing and contracting processes, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop detailed RFXs (Requests for Proposal/Quote/Information) and serve as the primary contact for suppliers and internal business partners throughout the process.
  • Coordinate and facilitate pre-bid meetings, respond to supplier inquiries, and keep all stakeholders updated on procurement progress.
  • Identify and rigorously evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and compliance standards.
  • Support cross-functional teams in sourcing, contracting, and developing robust proposal evaluation criteria.
  • Work closely with various IT organizations including InfoSec, Integrations team, Enterprise Architecture, and Software Asset Management to align procurement with technical strategies.
  • Prepare and process purchase order documents accurately within the online purchasing system.
  • Communicate and effectively resolve procurement issues and discrepancies, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Draft complex contracts aligned with company policies and legal guidelines, particularly for technology agreements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assessing completed contracts and resolving any post-award issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for supplier inquiries, building and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate and facilitate critical contract negotiations, securing optimal terms for the company.
  • Apply a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction, Law or related field, and 3 years direct purchasing experience; or applicable years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Utilize experience in negotiating software license agreements, cloud computing agreements, or other technology-related contracts.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively negotiate.
  • Maintain proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Showcase a proven ability of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Exhibit experience in devising new approaches to purchasing problems encountered.
  • Potentially leverage project purchasing experience (preferred).
  • Possess CPM, CPSM, CTPS or CTPE Certification (Preferred).
  • Utilize Oracle Financial R12 software experience (preferred) for purchasing operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience Level: Mid-Level (3+ years direct purchasing experience, with specific technology contract negotiation experience).
  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction, Law or related field, or equivalent experience.
