Duties and Responsibilities
- Check and verify the accurate receipt of all inbound stock.
- Transport stock to appropriate locations within the facility safely and efficiently.
- Complete the communication board for low unit of measure stock and maintain the phone log request book.
- Complete all stock requisitions and meticulously pull required stock for various departments.
- Maintain a basic working knowledge of 2600+ supplies for efficient handling and distribution.
- Maintain a basic working knowledge of instrumentation for timely replenishment.
- Channel problems/complaints for resolution, ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
- Report accurately and promptly when assignments cannot be completed as scheduled.
- Provide input and assistance with quality improvements in inventory processes.
- Maintain a positive customer service image in all interactions.
- Resolve problems effectively, ensuring smooth inventory operations.
- Assist with the yearly inventory count, contributing to accurate financial reporting.
- Answer and respond to telephone calls from customers, providing courteous and helpful assistance.
- Accurately identify unit of measure for various supplies.
- Maintain a clean, uncluttered, and organized work area.
- Establish inventory par levels for L.U.M. (Low Unit of Measure) stock.
- Accurately shelve return stock, ensuring proper placement and recording.
- Rotate stock according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles to prevent outdates.
- Regularly check for outdates on inventory items and report as necessary.
- Report inventory discrepancies accurately and list problems on inventory documents, reporting to the Coordinator.
- Check automatic charge/stock replenishment unit(s) for proper functioning.
- Restock zero received items, ensuring system accuracy.
- Utilize the computerized inventory system proficiently for locating inventory/bin numbers, quantities, adding/deleting par levels, and generating labels using handheld apparatus.
- Complete other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
- Attend and participate in department meetings, complete mandatory education, annual competencies, health requirements, and maintain licensure/certification.
- Utilize appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques for safety.
- Adhere to regulatory agency requirements and policies strictly.
- Be available to work overtime and additional shifts/schedules when required.
- Possess the necessary physical ability and stamina, including lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing carts, and remaining on feet for extended periods.
Qualifications
- Experience Level: Entry-Level (Minimum 6 months experience in distribution or sterile processing preferred).
- Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of 17 years of age.
- Minimum of six months of experience in all facets of distribution or sterile processing (preferred).
- Working knowledge of inventory systems, inventory control practices, and stock distribution fundamentals.
- Basic computer skills (necessary to utilize the Hospital’s inventory system).
- Strong interpersonal skills (interacting courteously with patients, families, visitors, team members).
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills (completing forms, taking messages legibly and accurately).
- Skilled in checking and verifying receipt of all inbound stock.
