Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive health risk assessments to identify client needs and potential health concerns

Develop and deliver personalized wellness coaching sessions focused on lifestyle improvement and disease prevention

Lead individual and group fitness training programs tailored to diverse client abilities and goals

Educate clients on wellness dimensions including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and sleep hygiene

Monitor client progress and adjust fitness and wellness plans accordingly

Provide excellent customer service by creating a supportive and motivating environment

Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports using Microsoft Office tools

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate fitness and wellness strategies into overall patient care

Stay current with health, fitness, and wellness trends to continuously enhance service quality
Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Health, Fitness, or related field preferred

Nationally accredited Personal Training certification is mandatory

Proven experience as a personal trainer or health-fitness specialist (mid-level experience)

Strong knowledge of lifestyle diseases and multiple wellness dimensions

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting

Exceptional time management skills with the ability to handle multiple clients and programs

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster client engagement and motivation

Working Conditions
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Newport, Oregon, at Samaritan Health Services’ wellness center. You will work closely with clients in both one-on-one and group settings, utilizing fitness equipment and health assessment tools. The role operates primarily during standard business hours, with occasional flexibility for early morning or evening sessions based on client needs.
