Job Overview

Samaritan Health Services is excited to welcome a compassionate and detail-driven Front Office Specialist II to our growing team in Newport, Oregon. This full-time position will be based onsite at our newly opened facility focused on addiction recovery services and behavioral health support.

In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors playing a vital role in the patient experience. From managing appointments to handling sensitive interactions with empathy and discretion, you will support a clinical team that provides life-changing care to vulnerable populations. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, respect, and empathy

  • Register patients, verify insurance information, and ensure accurate data entry

  • Schedule appointments using practice management software and maintain timely patient flow

  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately

  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coordinated patient care and communication

  • Provide clerical support including filing, scanning, and managing confidential records

  • Assist patients in completing required forms and understanding basic policies

  • Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including high-risk patients

  • Apply knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding in day-to-day documentation

  • Uphold confidentiality standards and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Demonstrated experience in a medical front office or healthcare environment preferred

  • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and general insurance terminology

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with compassion and professionalism in a behavioral health setting

  • Flexibility to support diverse patients, including individuals in recovery or crisis

  • Basic understanding of psychological principles and trauma-informed care

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Experience using practice scheduling systems preferred (training available)

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our new facility in Newport, Oregon. The role involves working standard daytime hours Monday through Friday, with potential flexibility based on clinic needs.
