Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply a minimum of 2 years as a Planner Estimator I OR minimum 6 years of work experience related to scheduling, planning, and tracking maintenance work and equipment in a power plant or heavy industrial facility.
  • Utilize proficient knowledge of work management systems for planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance work and equipment.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of maintenance and outage management best practices and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicator (KPI) metrics and POW schedules to monitor progress and efficiency.
  • Maintain proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, including developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, macros, and impactful presentations.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills in gathering, compiling, and correlating information, as well as in written and verbal reporting.
  • Accurately scope, plan, and estimate contractor work according to procedures (ES-CM-100).
  • Monitor P6 schedules related to outage, general maintenance, and various projects, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Ensure a common understanding of projects among all internal and external stakeholders through effective communication.
  • Maintain contractor project schedules and communicate changes promptly and clearly.
  • Monitor and actively work to reduce overtime usage, while exploring opportunities for productivity increases.
  • Ensure the proper routing and filing of work orders upon completion for accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide leadership and support in implementing company and departmental goals and initiatives.
  • Offer valuable guidance to Planning Associates, fostering their professional development.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring alignment with estimates and completed work.
  • Potentially leverage experience in planning and creating work packages (preferred).
  • Apply proficiency using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) with a thorough understanding of CPM scheduling methods and theory (preferred).
  • Benefit from 2 years of utilities experience (preferred) to navigate industry-specific challenges.

Qualifications

  • Experience Level: Mid-Level (Minimum 2-6 years of relevant experience, with progression).
  • Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent required. College Degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or related field preferred (may substitute for some experience).
  • Required Skills:
