Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform continuous system monitoring of the electrical or gas distribution system, including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and SCADA systems.
- Lead emergency response efforts, managing alarms, outages, isolating affected areas, and restoring service while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Execute strategic load management activities to ensure system reliability, including load shedding and load restoration procedures.
- Conduct precise switching operations to reconfigure the distribution network as needed.
- Perform detailed troubleshooting for equipment failures, voltage variations, and power quality problems.
- Conduct data analysis using SCADA data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for system improvements.
- Maintain excellent communication skills (written and verbal), effectively conveying technical information and collaborating with field personnel, dispatchers, and other operators.
- Ensure strict safety compliance in all operational activities, prioritizing the well-being of personnel and the public.
- Meticulously maintain documentation of all system events, maintenance activities, and outage information.
- Engage in continuous training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements.
- Participate in routine maintenance and inspections of distribution system equipment.
- Coordinate effectively with other departments, including engineering, planning, and maintenance, to ensure integrated operations.
