Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply Minimum 2 years of related experience (e.g., work order management, CAD drafting, GIS mapping) OR 1 year of experience as a Distribution Design Field Inspector, or relevant field experience as a lineworker or electrician.
- Utilize proficiency with utility industry systems including Work Management Systems (e.g., WorkPro), GIS and CAD software, PoleForeman, Customer Information Systems, Distribution Engineering Toolkit, and Voltage monitoring applications.
- Lead customer engagement and project planning by meeting customers, assessing their needs, establishing project milestones, and communicating changes effectively.
- Manage work request management processes, including creating and managing WRs in the WMS, breaking down jobs into manageable tasks, and updating status diligently.
- Perform technical analysis and system design, including load assessments, system modeling, estimating electrical loads, and coordinating with the New Construction team.
- Utilize PoleForeman for material/equipment/compliance requirements in design.
- Execute GIS and infrastructure mapping, designing and documenting infrastructure in GIS, ensuring accuracy, resolving discrepancies, linking GIS tasks to WRs, and uploading data to WMS.
- Drive construction planning and documentation by producing and supervising the creation of construction prints, identifying assets and third-party utilities, and evaluating MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) plans.
- Ensure compliance and financial verification by understanding Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, reviewing financial data in WMS, and confirming classifications/charges.
- Participate in equipment inspection and troubleshooting, conducting field inspections/tests, and installing voltage/current monitoring devices after training.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills in all aspects of design and project management.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience Level: Entry-Level to Mid-Level (2 years related experience or 1 year field experience as primary requirements).
- Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or technical certifications related to electrical systems, drafting, or GIS preferred.
- Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (Florida license required within 30 days of Florida residency, if applicable).
