Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive administrative oversight and direction for assigned hospital services at Elkhart General Hospital.
• Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that align with hospital and system-wide goals.
• Maintain a departmental and institutional perspective in all decision-making and planning.
• Identify opportunities for service expansion, process improvement, and operational excellence across assigned areas.
• Facilitate crucial collaboration across Beacon Health System locations, ensuring integrated and consistent operations.
• Direct operational and financial planning for assigned service areas, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic alignment.
• Balance department-level financial management with enterprise-level strategy to optimize resource utilization.
• Oversee and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for intervention.
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
• Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory, accrediting, and compliance requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
• Develop strong partnerships with hospital leadership, department heads, and service teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Encourage administrators to act as mediators, facilitators, and champions for innovation.
• Work closely with system leadership, external partners, and regulatory agencies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop department leaders, cultivating their skills and fostering professional growth.
• Call for mentoring and coaching staff to develop their leadership and management skills, supporting succession planning.
• Encourage leaders to model and promote operational excellence throughout their teams.
• Support workforce planning and development efforts, ensuring a skilled and engaged workforce.

• Apply a Bachelor’s degree (required) in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree (preferred) in a similar discipline.

• Must maintain any pertinent applicable certifications and licenses.
• Possess a strong understanding of hospital operations, financial management, service efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
