Job Overview
Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Design Engineering Manager to join a well-established engineering firm based in Hook, Hampshire. Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers.

Oversee design processes from concept through production, ensuring quality and accuracy.

Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).

Ensure project timelines and deliverables are met while staying within budget.

Maintain compliance with relevant design codes, CE documentation, and industry standards.

Utilize SolidWorks 3D (essential) and AutoCAD or DraftSight (desirable) for technical design.

Coordinate with production, procurement, and QA teams to streamline operations.

Support hands-on prototyping and problem-solving in workshop settings.

Work with pressure vessel design standards and manufacturing tolerances when applicable.

Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design methodologies.
Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline or NVQ Level 7 equivalent.

Proven experience (senior-level) in leading engineering design teams.

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks 3D; experience with AutoCAD/DraftSight is advantageous.

Strong knowledge of engineering documentation, CE marking, and industry compliance standards.

Experience in pressure vessel design, machining, and fabrication processes is highly beneficial.

Capable of managing ECR/NCR workflows and complex project schedules.

Practical workshop knowledge and ability to engage with hands-on tasks.

Working Conditions
