Job Overview
Elysium Healthcare, a leading provider of mental health services, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at the Brighton & Hove Clinic. This permanent role offers a key opportunity to provide clinical leadership and expertise, directly influencing the quality of care for young people aged 12–18 with eating disorders.
In this position, you will support the Ward Manager in leading the nursing team, ensuring high standards within the Clinical Governance framework, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. This role is ideal for an experienced nursing professional with strong leadership skills, a relevant qualification, and a genuine commitment to delivering evidence-based, person-centred care.
Duties and Responsibilities

Support the Ward Manager in leading the nursing team to deliver high-quality care to young people aged 12–18 with eating disorders.

Provide clinical leadership and act as a resource for the team.

Deliver supervision to staff and serve as a positive role model.

Work with the Senior Nurse and Ward Manager to coordinate the on-call service and manage ward budgets.

Maintain and improve standards within the Clinical Governance framework.

Effectively utilise and supervise all nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.

Take charge of the ward in the Ward Manager’s absence.

Foster a safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care environment.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies.
Qualifications

Relevant nursing qualification and current NMC registration.

Proven track record of leadership in a similar environment.

Strong commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care.

Positive attitude with a naturally caring and compassionate nature.

Experience supporting a Ward Manager and coordinating clinical operations.

Skilled in staff supervision, budget management, and maintaining governance standards.
