As a Chargehand, you will be instrumental in leading by example, working alongside one operative to complete a variety of grounds maintenance tasks. You’ll use your experience with a range of equipment and your safety-conscious mindset to ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in line with health and safety policies. Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and work alongside one operative to deliver scheduled and ad-hoc grounds maintenance tasks.

Carry out essential grounds maintenance duties, including void property grass cutting, bulk item uplifts, general site clearances, and shrub pruning.

Follow all health and safety policies and procedures meticulously.

Use company mobile apps to complete safety checks, receive work instructions, and close off completed jobs.

Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams, ensuring a high level of service.

Maintain all company tools, equipment, and vehicles to a high standard.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions, demonstrating physical fitness and resilience.

Use a range of equipment and hand tools safely and proficiently, including strimmers, backpack blowers, and push mowers.

Actively supervise and provide guidance to the operative you are working with.
Qualifications
Experience Level: This is a supervisory role that requires previous experience in a similar Grounds Maintenance position.
Education Requirement: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred, with a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on experience and relevant training.
Required Skills:

Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Hold a full valid UK Driving License, with less than 6 penalty points.

Willingness to learn and open to training.

Capable of working safely using a range of equipment and hand tools (e.g., strimmers, backpack blowers, push mowers etc.).

Experience working in a busy team and providing a high-quality service.
