AbbVie, a global leader in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Account Specialist, SMD to join our team in Port Jefferson, NY. This full-time, field-based role offers an opportunity to drive the success of our specialty products by building strong relationships with community practices and health systems across Long Island East.
As an Account Specialist, you will leverage your clinical and product expertise to promote specialty products, exceed sales goals, and provide valuable training to healthcare professionals. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with proven sales performance and a passion for improving patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities

Promote specialty products to community practices and health systems, achieving and exceeding sales goals.

Identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions with appropriate resources.

Provide expert clinical and injection training to healthcare professionals.

Collaborate with other specialists to maximize market penetration.

Use sales and data resources to optimize sales strategies.

Handle training equipment, including lifting/pulling models weighing 25–100 lbs.

Drive performance and maintain a strong presence within the assigned territory.
Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma/GED with equivalent industry experience; Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related fields preferred.

At least five years of technical industry experience, with three or more years in sales preferred.

Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products preferred.

Documented history of strong sales performance preferred.

Ability to lift/pull 25–100 lb. training models.

Valid driver’s license, ability to pass drug screening, and meet safe driving requirements.

Must meet Health Care Industry Representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements.
