Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of supply chain projects, specifically focused on optimizing material flow in distribution centers.
- Apply 3–5 years of experience in a related field, demonstrating knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Utilize Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for planning, documentation, and reporting.
- Leverage project management experience to lead and coordinate build/design activities.
- Employ strong communication skills (written and verbal) to articulate plans and schedules clearly.
- Demonstrate comprehensive warehouse experience, including knowledge of flow, conveyor systems, racking, construction, and maintenance.
- Apply robust problem-solving skills for complex and uncertain scenarios encountered during implementation.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
- Communicate plans and schedules effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Update 2D AutoCAD layouts (AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required) for distribution center designs.
- Meticulously document business requirements, functional/system design, processes, and procedures.
- Identify barriers and apply problem-solving skills to devise complex solutions for operational challenges.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and third-party consultants to ensure seamless project execution.
- Partner effectively with distribution center associates, management, and senior leaders to gather insights and ensure buy-in.
- Manage all design/build activities, including creating and managing detailed project plans.
- Coordinate with vendors on quotes, schedules, and installation, ensuring projects stay on track.
- Attend daily and weekly status meetings to report progress and address issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems independently, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Ensure strict compliance with city requirements (hazmat storage, high-pile racking, permitting, construction).
- Work collaboratively with vendors on all permitting requirements.
- Create and manage Excel files for bin locations, labeling, and system updates.
- Develop new tools, processes, and strategies for supply chain forecasting, replenishment, and logistics.
- Partner with stakeholders to enhance supplier collaboration and performance.
- Develop decision-support tools and financial models for cost/benefit tradeoffs in inventory.
Qualifications
- Experience Level: Mid-Level (3-5 years of experience).
- Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
